Internships at Peppertree Engineering

Peppertree Engineering, Inc. participates in the Columbia Alumni Internship Program through the Columbia University Center for Career Education.

Two Summer 2012 interns from Columbia worked on a variety of engineering programs under the supervision of Dr. Mark Arbore, President of Peppertree Engineering.

Silas Wilkinson, is building an automated test station (hardware and software) used for characterizing a light source product before shipment. Silas loves to build hardware. He previously overhauled a broken 1986 Honda Rebel motorcycle, restoring it to roadworthy condition. He also speaks Japanese.

Ben Aguilar, is reviewing data with Dr. Arbore. Ben developed the build process for a new sensor design based on LEDs and characterized fiber lasers and optical components. Ben is the Ghana Water Team Project Leader for Engineers Without Borders and has previous laboratory experience from the research lab of Professor Lance Kam at Columbia.

Ellie BaerIn addition, Ellie Baer, supported the team this summer and served as company photographer. She is starting her Freshman year at Boston College in the Fall.
